[red] Prithviraj [green] "The Thriller" bags [red] 1.45 crores [green] rights !!
Indications are that [red] Prithviraj [green] is inching his way towards superstardom, something that's rather difficult to accomplish in Malayalam cinema these days as it already has many eyeing that position.
But the young actor's stars seem to be on the ascent these days. [red] Prithviraj, [green] who is as much in demand in Tamil as in Malayalam and who got the fortune to play the cop in Maniratnam's Ravanan, is at present acting in Thriller, directed by scenarist-turned-director B.Unnikrishnan.
The film, which was earlier reported to be based on the sensation Paul Muthoot murder case (something which has been denied by the makers of the movie), has [red] Prithviraj [green] playing a firebrand kind of cop. It has apparently bagged, by way of satellite rights sales, a sum of [red] Rs. 1.45 crore. [green] For Prithviraj, this is a leap of sorts, as he had been in the below [red] 1-crore [green] bracket in the satellite rights market. From the [red] 85-90 lakh range, [green] the actor has now evolved into a star who could ensure as much as [red] Rs. 1.45 [green] for his films by way of satellite rights sale. And this when Malayalam film featuring superstars are fetching satellite rights to the tune of [red] Rs 1.5 crore.
