'Pokkiriraja' is the biggest in 2010 As 2010

Is finally drawing to a close, the winner at the Box office is clear. 'Pokkiriraja', the debut film from Vysakh, featuring Mammootty and Prithviraj is undoubtedly the biggest hit of the year in Mollywood. The movie which was made with a budget of 6.25 crores including print and publicity, (75 lakhs for print and publicity) has raked in an income of 10.7 crores to its producer  Tomichan Mulakupadam,from various sources. The movie got 2.3 crores as sate llite rights while the producer share came to around 6.3 crores. Apart from Pokkrirraja, the other big hits of the year include 'Happy Husbands' from Saji Surendran, 'Pappy Appacha' from Dileep directed by debutante Mamas, 'Prachiyettan and the Saint' by Renjith, 'In Ghosthouse Inn' by Lal and 'Elsamma enna Aankutty' by Laljose. All these movies managed a 100-day run in city centres and made profits for their producers. There is a big list of hit movies, this year including Mohanlal's 'Shikkar' directed by Padmakumar,'Malarvady Arts  Club' by Vineeth Sreenivasan,'Karyasthan' by Thomson, ' Apoorva Raagam' by Sibi Malayil, 'Mummy and me' by  Jithu Joseph, 'Katha thudarunnu' by Sathyan Anthikkad,'Maryk kundoru Kunjaadu 'by Shafi, 'Best actor' directed by Martin  Prakkat,'Bodyguard' by 
Siddhique, 'Cocktail' by Arun kumar and 'Sakudumbam Shyamala' by Radha krishanan
Managalathu.(the last two getting into the list due to their 
low cost of production) The upset flops of the year 
includes Saji surendran's 'Four
friends', Mohanlal's 'Alexander
the great', and Mammootty's
' Vande Matharam'.The biggest 
number of flops came from Suresh Gopi and Vinoo Mohan
whose films not even managed 
to make a good start in 2010.
