Director Lal Jose, who was trying to bring actors Mohanlal and Prithviraj in his movie Cousins, has now given up the project. The production of the movie, originally scheduled to begin in February, was delayed due to the clashing dates of Mohanlal and Prithviraj. Director Lal Jose was patient with the delay as Cousins would be his first movie with Mohanlal. But as the movie seemed never to take shape, Lal Jose called it quits and moved on to his next untitled project with Dileep. The director has expressed more confidence with the current project, as the Lal-Dileep combine had given some memorable Malayalam films like Meesa Madhavan and Chandupottu.
