The ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan is all set to make his second venture as a director in Malayalam with the film Urumi. Sharing his thoughts, Sivan said that he is trying something totally different from his earlier films. It does have the commercial
formula of songs, fights, romance, big stars etc and maintains that though it is an entertainer, it is designed like a thriller. The film is scheduled to release on March 31st and a shorter abridged version will be making it to the international film festivals.
Urumi is a period drama set on the backdrop of the 15th century and it has the rising superstar Prithviraj in the lead along with the bubbly beauty Genelia. Apparently, the teaser was released in the internet and the response to this was over whelming.
