Mani Ratnam praises Urumi
India's finest director Mani Ratnam has watched and praised ace cinematographer-director Santosh Sivan's magnum opus Urumi at a special screening arranged exclusively for him on Wednesday morning (March 30) at Real Images in Chennai. After watching the film, Mani Ratnam was all praise for Santosh Sivan, who was in Thiruvananthapuram promoting the film. The director said that Mani Ratnam texted him: "Urumi is huge. It is entertaining and the performances are very convincing. It's simply Santosh magic." About rumours that he will be working with his mentor Mani Ratnam for Ponniyin Selvan, being made in Tamil and Telugu with Vijay, Mahesh Babu, Arya and Anushka in the lead, Santosh Sivan said: "I love doing period films, especially with a director like Mani sir. But nothing is confirmed yet. I'll take a call once the film releases in Tamil and English." Urumi is made in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and English with Prithviraj, Genelia, Vidya Balan, Tabu and Prabhu Deva in the lead roles
