Set against the backdrop
of the 16th century fierce
warrior clans of Northern
Kerala, this Malayalam
period drama is based on a
brave warrior (Arya), a man on a mission to
assassinate Vasco Da Gama,
the Viceroy of Portuguese
Empire in India. But he is
brutally killed by the
invaders. Now his son Kelu Naynar
(Prithviraj) is ready to
avenge his death using a
golden Urumi (a flexible
sword) that he makes with
the ornaments of dead women and children burnt
alive in a ship going to
Mecca by Vasco Da Gama.
Kelu's mission is supported
by his childhood Muslim
buddy Vavvali (Prabhu Deva). During their
treacherous journey full of
conflicts, treachery and
treason, Kelu meets
warrior princess Ayesha
(Genelia), who has her own axe to grind against the
foreign invaders. But will
their master plan in
creating their own army
against Da Gama's Empire
really succeed? Internationally-reputed
cinematographer and
director Santosh Sivan
comes up with a top-notch
Malayalam film with
astounding visuals, technical wizardry and
excellent performances to
