Young superstar Prithviraj’s career seems to be on an interesting turn with magnum opus "Urumi" .. Ravanan might not have made the expected impact at the box-office, but Prithviraj’s performance in it was taken note of, by critics as well as the average viewers.
Now all attention on Urumi, the period flick directed by Santosh Sivan. Also starring Genelia, Arya, Tabu, Vidya Balan and Prabhu Deva, the film is set in the times when Vasco Da Gama landed in Kerala. The big-budget trilingual also has Prithviraj donning the role of a producer along with Santhosh Sivan and Shaji Natesan. Shoot for "Urumi" starts at the Malshej Ghats in Maharashtra.
Malshej Ghat,is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range in Pune district of Maharashtra, India. The site is nestled in the lofty rugged hills of the Western Ghats.
While on the other hand, the title of the film 'Urumi' refers to the eight feet long flexible sword that is traditionally used in the Kalari a known martial arts form in Kerala.
The script of "Urumi" originally thought in Malayalam is written by Shankar Ramakrishnan and Deepak Dev has composed the songs and the background score for the movie. Sreekar Prasad is the Editor and Anal Arasu is the Action director. Astounding camera work is also by Santosh Sivan. "Urumi" will release worldwide in all versions March 31, 2011 as a big summer release !!
